Hope For The Unborn

At Truthful Hope, we are unapologetically pro-life. This means we value and support protecting all human life, including those in the womb. As our name implies, we strive toward offering hope to the hopeless through the True Hope—Jesus Christ. There is nobody who is more hopeless than the innocent human beings in the womb denied the right to life.

We adhere to the consensus among modern scientists that the unborn are human beings at the moment of conception. Therefore, they should be treated as such, having all the protection and rights of those already born.  Our stance on abortion can be summarized as follows:

(1) It is morally wrong to intentionally kill a human being.

(2) Abortion intentionally kills a human being.

(3) Therefore, abortion is morally wrong.

The statistics below are gut-wrenching, knowing each number represents an innocent human being. We hope you, too, are moved by these numbers and can join us in fighting to protect the lives of the innocent preborn human beings.

Abortion: Only One Question

If the preborn are human beings with equal value as you and I who have already been born, then the numbers above are horrifying.

The abortion debate can quickly spiral into numerous directions (rape, incest, women's rights, etc.), but there is one central question that the entire debate hinges on—what is the preborn? How one answers this question will dictate how they approach the issues mentioned above.

If the preborn is not a human person, no justification for abortion is necessary. However, if the preborn is a human person, no justification for abortion is adequate. Read our article on this vital question to learn about the humanity of the preborn on a scientific, philosophical, and theological basis below.

How Abortion Has Impacted My Life

The issue of abortion is very personal for me. When my mother was in her late twenties, she was 4 months pregnant and had intense pain while at the gym. Her friend drove her to the hospital, and they confirmed she had a miscarriage of the one child she was expecting. Right before they were going to perform the D&C, the doctor sprinted into the room and halted the procedure, saying my parents had health insurance that covered an additional ultrasound to confirm what had happened before continuing. They were able to confirm the miscarriage, but little did they know there was another healthy baby—that baby was me. The D&C procedure would have killed me if they had not done that last-minute ultrasound. Fast forward 4 months later…

When my mother was 8 months pregnant with me, the doctors told my parents that I would have spina bifida and recommended that they abort. After hours of contemplation, by the grace of God, they did not decide to proceed with an abortion and chose to deal with whatever health complications that I would have. One month later, I was born with no health issues, and 29 years later today, I have had no spinal issues. It was a false positive, but the heartbreaking part of it all is that there are parents who go through with the abortion when given an option, despite the chance of the baby being healthy. Even more importantly, that baby in the womb was the same “me” writing this article. The option to abort should never have been offered, for even if I had to live with that condition, every human being has a right to life.

Join The Fight!

We not only aim to educate those on the humanity and value of the preborn but also to fund pregnancy centers that offer women alternative options to abortion that protect and support their lives as well as the innocent preborn human being in the womb. Your donations to Truthful Hope help fulfill this mission and save the lives of countless babies.
